The first lecture in this session commenced at 10.50am. The lecture was delivered by J. Ausman (USA), who talked on management of cerebral AVMs. He discussed the epidemiology, pathology and the treatment choices for AVMs. He concluded that the choice of treatment is one with best outcome and least risk.

 

The second lecture commenced at 11.20am. The lecture was delivered by A. Ammar (Dhahran, KSA), He talked on Surgery for Moya Moya disease. He discussed the epidemiology, classification, pathophysiology, and modalities of surgical treatment and follow up.

 

The third lecture started at 11.45am and was delivered by J. Ausman (USA) who talked on Management of Pineal region masses. He particularly emphasized the surgical approaches for the treatment of colloid cysts of the third ventricle, and radiotherapy for germinomas.

 

The last lecture in this session started at 12.24 pm. The lecture was delivered by P. Rabischong (Montpellier, France), who discussed the detailed anatomy and some relevant physiology of the cerebellopontine angle. He also described the anatomy of the structures in the cerebellopontine angle including vessels and nerves.
